Bachelor of Fine Arts by the Universidad de Sonora. Melissa has presented three solo exhibitions in Mexico: Para el olvido (Hermosillo, 2007), Nadie prometió un despertar (Hermosillo and Guaymas, 2008), and When I dream, I dream… (Guaymas, 2010 and Alamos, 2011). She has collaborated in more than 40 group shows in Mexico and Arizona, USA, and her works have received around 16 art awards and fellowships in her country. She has participated in contemporary art workshops with renowned mexican masters and has worked as an illustrator for El Colegio de Sonora, Universidad de Sonora, Instituto Sonorense de Cultura and particular editors. Her work Pediatría (2007) is part of the collective mural paintings which decorates the School of Medicine´s Library in the Universidad de Sonora. Currently, she works as a visual artist and art instructor.
